My fantastic clients from Texas were getting married in California and wanted a romantic getaway directly after their wedding. So I booked them a trip to fabulous Tahiti — a direct flight from California into Papeete, then island hopping across French Polynesia.

After a busy build-up to the wedding, they needed an escape that felt private, romantic and luxurious. We started with a few days exploring Tahiti, then two very different stays on Bora Bora: an overwater bungalow at the Four Seasons, followed by a bungalow on the sand at the St. Regis for a change of scenery — with private boat charters along the way.

The journey

Days 1–3

Tahiti

A direct flight from California landed them in Papeete, where they spent three days touring Tahiti: watching the waves roll in, exploring the black sand beaches, and swimming in caves.
Six nights

Bora Bora, over the water

A short flight to Bora Bora and straight into an overwater bungalow with a private plunge pool at the Four Seasons. The perfect escape after a busy build-up to their wedding: private, romantic, luxurious.
Four nights

Bora Bora, on the sand

For a change of scenery, I moved them over to the St. Regis — trading the overwater bungalow for one on the sand, and a different pace to end the trip.
